I would take those types of comments with a grain of salt. Usually people are more apt to take the time to write if they have a complaint. Here are some more reviews, but the best thing you can do is go visit the schools and see what you think for yourself. And remember, there is no perfect school, you're likely to hear the same, or worse, about any school.

As far as which school, see which school is right for your area of design. Like if it's automotive, then Art Center in Pasadena is probably the right place for you.

You have a really good chance, but, selective colleges look to see if you went to a competitive high-school or not, as many students have 4.0's because their schools are easy. But even if you did go to a bad highschool you did pretty well on those AP tests and your SAT, so that is a sign that you are generally smart student. If you go to a competitive school then you're set, I think.
